Cristian Garin has been going through a rough patch for the past couple of months and he will be trying hard to get back to his best form by making a change at the ongoing Madrid Open. Seeded 27th Miomir Kecmanovic has been in stellar form for the past few months and he will be adamant to perform well in the Madrid Open as well. At the Dallas Open, he got knocked out right in the first round by Gomez, and the same was the result when he was shown the door by Jarry at the Australian Open in the opening round as well. At the Adelaide International 2, he made it to the quarter-finals losing to Kokkinakis in what was a three-set thriller. At the Adelaide International 1, he made it to the round-of-16 stage losing to Medvedev, and at the Delray Beach Open, he made his way into the final losing to Fritz. In the recently played Estoril Open, he again made it to the final but again lost it this time to Ruud.
