Seeded 1st Carlos Alcaraz has been the star kid that has got the whole world talking and he will be even more confident at the Madrid Open after his recent win at the Barcelona Open where he beat Tsitsipas in the finals. At the Swiss Indoors, he made it to the semi-finals losing to Auger-Aliassime in straight sets, and at the Miami Open, he lost to Sinner in the semi-finals missing out on yet another title. He was a huge success at the US Open after which he took a month’s gap from tennis. He beat Ruud in the final in what was a four-set thriller for the fans. In the Rio Open, he again made it to the finals but this time lost the title despite winning the first set of the match to Cameron Norrie who took revenge for his defeat in Argentina. Seeded 26th Grigor Dimitrov hasn’t been in good touch lately and has been losing all the recent tournaments he has played in. He will be adamant to make a change in fortune and perform well at the Madrid Open. He couldn’t make it past the first stage mark in most of his last tournaments, losing to Lehecka at the Stockholm Open, and to Ivashka at the Sofia Open. He made it to the semi-finals of the Vienna Open thereby losing to Daniil Medvedev and also made it to the third round of the Australian Open losing to Djokovic. At the Rotterdam Open, he made it to the semi-finals before losing to the eventual champion yet again, Daniil Medvedev, and at the Miami Open he made it to the round of 32 stage losing to Eubanks.
