Jenson Brooksby has not been in good form recently and has been on a losing run for the last couple of months and he will be motivated to have a change of fortune in the first match of the new year. He has been losing the tournaments he has played getting knocked out right in the first rounds. He lost to D. Shapovalov in the semi-finals after winning the first three matches in the Korea Open. In the next three tournaments, he got knocked out right in the first rounds against McDonald, Draper, and Humbert in the Firenze Open, European Open, and Swiss Indoors respectively.
Fabio Fognini also hasn’t been in great form recently and looks to start the year on a high. He hasn’t made it to the later stages of any of the major tournaments he has played in the last couple of months. He lost to Carreño in the Tennis Napoli Cup after winning the first match against Grenier. In the next tournament which was the Paris Masters, he got knocked out right in the round of 32 stage to Dimitrov after winning the matches against Daniel Elahi Galán and Arthur Fils. He would be desperate for a win as he looks to build the momentum he has been wanting for far too long now.
