Here are some of the matches to look out for on Day 4 of the 2022 Barcelona Open.
Tsistipas and Dimitrov are two of the top players in the world at the moment. They are seeded 1 and 14 for the Barcelona Open and it will be quite interesting to see how their battle pans out. Tsitsipas, who is on a red hot run of form, beat Ilya Ivashka 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 on Wednesday to advance. Dimitrov, on the other hand, has been in fine form as well. The Bulgarian came back from a set down to beat Federico Coria 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Pablo Carreno Busta and Lorenzo Sonego are two players who find themselves at a very similar stage in their respective careers. Both will be willing to prove their worth ahead of the Roland Garros so one can expect a feisty and tight encounter. Carreno Busta made a statement with a dominant victory over compatriot Bernabe Zapata Miralles 6-3, 6-3 while Sonego beat Elias Ymer 6-4, 6-2.
Diego Schwartzman is the sixth seed at the Barcelona Open this year and he will face a stern test against Lorenzo Musettu. The Italian seems to be in fine form as he defeated Daniel Evans 6-4, 7-6 (10-8) in what was an outstanding match of high-quality tennis. Schwartzman, on the other hand, has a ton of experience to back him up and the Argentine will be looking to use that to the fullest. He beat Mackenzie McDonald 6-2, 6-2 in the round of 32.
Apart from these, there are a number of other matches that can be memorable. Frances Tiafoe will face off against their seed Felix Auger-Alliasme. Carlos Alcaraz will also be in action on home soil against compatriot Jaume Munar.
