The 2022 edition of the Barcelona Open has given us its fair share of thrills and spills so far and day 4 has some potentially nail-biting matches lined up. The tournament itself has been an exciting one so far and it can only get better. There are several potentially enticing matches lined up that include the likes of 2022 Monte Carlo Masters champion Stefanos Tsitsipas, Felix Auger-Alliasme, Grigor Dimitrov, Daniel Schwartzman, and others. The Barcelona Open is one of the more important tournaments before the Roland Garros, therefore players will be eager to improve their game in a competitive setting on clay. Here are some of the matches to look out for on Day 4 of the 2022 Barcelona Open.

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Grigor Dimitrov

Tsistipas and Dimitrov are two of the top players in the world at the moment. They are seeded 1 and 14 for the Barcelona Open and it will be quite interesting to see how their battle pans out. Tsitsipas, who is on a red hot run of form, beat Ilya Ivashka 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 on Wednesday to advance. Dimitrov, on the other hand, has been in fine form as well. The Bulgarian came back from a set down to beat Federico Coria 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Pablo Carreno Busta vs Lorenzo Sonego

Pablo Carreno Busta and Lorenzo Sonego are two players who find themselves at a very similar stage in their respective careers. Both will be willing to prove their worth ahead of the Roland Garros so one can expect a feisty and tight encounter. Carreno Busta made a statement with a dominant victory over compatriot Bernabe Zapata Miralles 6-3, 6-3 while Sonego beat Elias Ymer 6-4, 6-2.

Diego Schwartzman vs Lorenzo Musetti

Diego Schwartzman is the sixth seed at the Barcelona Open this year and he will face a stern test against Lorenzo Musettu. The Italian seems to be in fine form as he defeated Daniel Evans 6-4, 7-6 (10-8) in what was an outstanding match of high-quality tennis. Schwartzman, on the other hand, has a ton of experience to back him up and the Argentine will be looking to use that to the fullest. He beat Mackenzie McDonald 6-2, 6-2 in the round of 32.

Apart from these, there are a number of other matches that can be memorable. Frances Tiafoe will face off against their seed Felix Auger-Alliasme. Carlos Alcaraz will also be in action on home soil against compatriot Jaume Munar. British tennis player Camron Norrie will be up against Marton Fucsovics while Lloyd Harris will go up against Alex de Minaur.
