Sebastian Baez has not been in good form recently and has been on a losing run for the last couple of months and he will be motivated to have a change of fortune in the first match of the new year. He has been losing the tournaments he has played getting knocked out right in the first rounds. He lost to MartĂnez in the first round of the Maharashtra Open and lost to Khachanov in the first round of the Paris Masters. He also had to bow out of the Swiss Indoors losing to Carreno right in the first match, but in the Tennis Napoli Cup, he got a win against Sonego in the first match only to be beaten by Zhang in the second matchup.
Ben Shelton has been enjoying himself lately winning championships for fun during the last couple of months. He won the US Charlottesville Challenger and the Knoxville Challenger back to back. He also won the US Challenger Campaign beating the likes of Vukic, Kovacevic, Gunneswaran, Quinn, and Ozolins on the way. But to the start of the new year, he could.t carry his form to the Adelaide International 1 which commenced a few days back and he lost right in the first qualifier to James Duckworth.
