5th seed Andrey Rublev hasn’t been in good touch lately and has been losing all the recent tournaments he has played in. He will be adamant to make a change in fortune and perform well at the Monte Carlo Masters. He couldn’t make it past the first stage mark in most of his last tournaments, losing to Kokkinakis at the Adelaide International 2, and to Fritz at the Cincinnati Masters in the second round. He made it to the quarter-finals of the Australian Open thereby losing to Djokovic after beating the likes of Rune, Evans, Ruusuvuori, and Thiem. His bad form continued as he got knocked out from the Paris Masters and Vienna Open at the round of 16 stage on both occasions. In the ongoing Monte Carlo Masters, he beat Munar in the first round by 4-6, 6-2, 6-2, and in the second round, he beat Khachanov by 7-6, 6-2. In the quarter-finals, he beat Struff by 6-1, 7-6.

He couldn’t make it past the second stage mark in any of his last tournaments, losing to Shopavalov at the Vienna Open, to Gilles Simon at the Paris Masters, and to Poyrin at the Australian Open. At the ATP World Tour Finals, he beat Auger-Alliassime and Nadal to make it to the semis only to lose to Djokovic. At the Dallas Open, he made it to the semi-finals where he lost to Wu Yibing, and right after that, he lifted the Delray Beach Open beating the likes of Kecmanovic, McDonald, Mannarino, and Gomez on the way. In the ongoing Monte Carlo Masters, he beat Wawrinka in the first round by 7-6, 6-2, and in the second round, he beat Lehecka by 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. In the quarter-finals, he beat Tsitsipas by 6-2, 6-4.
