Vedaant Madhavan, the son of actor R Madhavan has again brought laurels to the nation. Vedaant bagged five gold medals at the recently held Malaysia Invitational Age Group Swimming Championships 2023. He accomplished the medals in the 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m and 1500m freestyle alongside setting two personal bests (PB). The Malaysian swimming championships was held at the National Aquatic Center, KLSC, Bukit Jalil from 13 to 16 April 2023.

Vedaant Madhavan Other Achievements

Vedaant Madhavan, the son of Madhavan, achieved a remarkable feat at the Khelo India Youth Games 2023 competition. The 17-year-old swimmer represented team Maharashtra and secured five gold medals, including victories in the 100m, 200m, and 1500m events, as well as two silver medals in the 400m and 800m events, all in the boys’ freestyle event. 

This accomplishment followed his previous successes in aquatic sports, where he earned a bronze medal at the Latvia Open in March 2021 and seven medals (four silver and three bronze) at the Junior National Aquatic Championships in the same year. Vedaant’s first gold medal came in April 2022 when he won the Danish Open swimming event.

At the 48th Junior National Aquatics Championships in 2022, Vedaant Madhavan won the 1500m freestyle with a remarkable time of 16:01.73 seconds. His outstanding performance at the event earned him four gold medals and three silver medals. The news of Vedaant’s accomplishment spread rapidly and even grabbed the attention of global celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, who congratulated him on social media. Additionally, the Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, honored Vedaant for his achievement.
