The USA Swimming has recently introduced an incentive program for its athletes, offering them a financial reward if they are able to achieve extraordinary relay success. The program aims to foster a culture of team focus and camaraderie, which is considered the very core of their success. The national governing body has announced that if the US Swimming team manages to win all seven relays at the upcoming world championships in Fukuoka, Japan, all pool and open water world team members will share a total of $500,000. However, if the American swimmers manage to secure first, second or third place in all the relays, they will share a sum of $150,000.

The incentive program will also extend to the Paris Olympics in 2024, where the US swimmers will have the opportunity to win even larger sums of money. If the American team manages to sweep all the relays at the Paris Olympics, they will share a grand prize of $1 million. In the event that they win medals in all the relays, they will share a total of $250,000. The incentive program is believed to be unprecedented and reflects the organization’s commitment to promoting relay success. To participate in the relay events at the Olympics, a country must either come in the top three at the world championships or post a top-13 time among countries in combined results from the current year’s world meet and the 2024 worlds in Qatar, which will take place in the month of February.
