John Manenti believes that winning gold at the Commonwealth Games would be a powerful statement to those who doubt the legitimacy of Australia’s men’s rugby sevens team. The team has undergone a remarkable turnaround since Manenti and Tim Walsh swapped roles after the Tokyo Games. Despite facing cuts and a long history of inconsistency, Manenti has built a squad that sits second in the World Series standings.
