New Zealand will take on Lebanon in the Rugby World Cup on October 16 at Warrington’s Halliwell Jones Stadium. The 2008 World Cup winners New Zealand, who entered Pool C as the hot favorites to win all three games and go to the quarterfinals with plenty of confidence, will be the center of attention. There is a lot of interest in how Luke Keary-led Ireland and Mitch Moses-led Lebanon perform since the outcome of their match on October 24 in Leigh will probably determine who advances with the Kiwis. With former Wallaby coach Michael Cheika and Wests Tigers veteran Robbie Farah as their coaches, Lebanon has a driven and knowledgeable group that is likely to have something special planned for the big game.

The Cedars have the offensive potency to worry all of their opponents with the partnership of Moses and Adam Doueihi in the halves and Jacob Kiraz and Josh Mansour out wide. Hooker Brandon Smith, who is headed to the Roosters, and his new teammate Joseph Manu are significant players in the Kiwis’ campaign. Smith is one of the most dynamic ball runners in the game when he is at his best, and Manu’s 145 tackle breaks, 11 tries, and 13 line breaks all significantly contributed to the Roosters’ advancement into the NRL playoffs. James Fisher-Harris, Jesse Bromwich, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, and Joseph Tapine make up Michael Maguire’s fantastic front pack, which also includes Briton Nikora, Kenny Bromwich, and Isaiah Papali’i for edge-punching.

Mitch Moses and Adam Doueihi can help Lebanon go to the knockout rounds, allowing Mitch Moses to move over the disappointment of Parramatta’s grand final defeat. Moses had a fantastic NRL season, and Michael Cheika’s game plan will depend heavily on his kicking ability and field vision. Jacob Kiraz, who averaged 128 meters of running per game for the Bulldogs in 2022, former Origin and Test winger Josh Mansour, former Sea Eagle Abbas Miski, young Raiders player Brandon Morkos, and seasoned winger Reece Robinson, who has scored 57 tries in 120 NRL games, make up a potential back five. There is a lot to appreciate about the Cedars’ team now that NRL stars have joined the group that defeated Malta 30–14 at Belmore Sports Ground in June.
