Day 10 of the Tokyo Olympics 2020 on Monday (August 2) witnessed history as the Indian women’s hockey team qualified for a historic semi-final. However, there was also sadness involved as Kamalpreet Kaur finished sixth in the Discus Throw Final.

It was a big day for India at the Tokyo Olympics on Sunday on Day 9. Ace shuttler PV Sindhu confirmed India’s third medal at the Games this year.

Sindhu has won the bronze medal in the women’s singles badminton event after defeating He Bing Jiao of China in what was a rather comfortable game for the Indian.

Moving onto the field, the Indian men’s hockey team created history as they won 3-1 against Great Britain in the quarter-final.

India has qualified for the semi-final of the hockey competition at the Olympics for the first time in 49 years.

Even if they don’t win the semi-final match, it will still leave them with a chance to claim the bronze medal, which would still be an incredible achievement.
