Commonwealth Games (CWG) Gold medalists Mirabai Chanu and Nikhat Zareen will appear on the popular Indian reality television game series, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) hosted by Bollywood legendary actor Amitabh Bacchan. The show will air on September 5, Monday and is dedicated to India’s success at the Commonwealth Games 2022. Indian sportspersons showcased an incredible performance at the CWG, winning 61 medals (22 gold, 16 silver, and 23 bronze)
India’s leading weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu will be seen in the special episode of KBC. The Olympic silver medalist achieved her third successive medal at the CWG (Gold in 2022 and 2018, Silver in 2014). Nikhat Zareen is the reigning world champion in women’s 52kg in Boxing. Iconic Bollywood star Amitabh Bacchan will quiz the two elite Indian athletes on the show. In the recently released promo, both the athletes are seen sharing inspirational accounts of their lives.

In the promo, pugilist Nikhat Zareen described being severely wounded after being ousted by a male boxer. Her instructor had set up her fight with a male boxer. She returned home with a scarred face and bleeding nose. Seeing this, her mother began to cry and worried that no one would marry her. To which Nikhat replied that if she established a name for herself, grooms would line up for her. Similarly, Mirabai Chanu asked Amitabh Bachchan to perform a well-known line from one of his popular films, Agneepath.
KBC is known for inviting sportspersons on multiple occasions to the show. A few of the athletes include Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra, double Olympic medalist PV Sindhu, Indian Goalkeeper PR Sreejesh, Sunil Chettri, Mary Kom, Leander Paes, Hima Das, Dutee Chand, etc.
Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) episode, featuring Mirabai Chanu and Nikhat Zareen will be broadcast live on the Sony TV channel at 9:00 PM IST on Sept 5, 2022. The special episode of the popular TV show, KBC will also be streamed live on the SonyLiv app.
