Jordan Smith dominated from the beginning till the end to win the Portugal Masters on Sunday which was his first European Tour triumph in over five years.
Jordan Smith of England claimed the $2 million Portugal Masters 2022 at the Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course in Vilamoura, Portugal, with a final-round 63 and a 72-hole total of 30 under par. Smith dominated from the beginning till the end to win the Portugal Masters on Sunday which was his first European Tour triumph in over five years. This was his second DP World Tour victory, following his Porsche European Open victory in 2017. Smith had finished second twice this season but hadn’t clinched a title.
The 29-year-old scored in the 60s in every round and had 27 birdies, three eagles, and only three bogeys throughout the four days at the Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course. The victory pushed him to ninth place in the DP World Tour standings. Smith won by three shots ahead of Malaysian playing partner Gavin Green, who fired a final-round 64 to finish as the 2021-2022 DP World Tour’s second runner-up.
