The FIDE World Teams Chess Championship will be held in Jerusalem, Israel, from November 19 to November 26, 2022. The championship will be contested in rapid format. The time limit for the entire game will be 45 minutes, with a 10-second increment commencing with move 1. The participating countries will now be divided into two pools of equal strength, using the November 1st rapid rating list as a guide. The top four teams from each pool will advance to the knock-out round, where they will compete in Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Finals, with each match consisting of two matches between the teams.

Big names like Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Anish Giri, Teimour Radjabov, Shakhiyar Mamedyarov, and Vasyl Ivanchuk will compete in the tournament. The tournament, organized by FIDE and the Israel Chess Federation with the support of the Israel Ministry of Sport and Culture, will take place at the Mount Scopus Hall in the Dan Hotel in Jerusalem. The commentators will be former world champion Viswanathan Anand and seven-time French Women’s Chess Champion Almira Skripchenko.
