According to various reports, Minnesota Timberwolves player Anthony Edwards was involved in an altercation that necessitated Denver Police action Tuesday night following the team’s series-clinching defeat to the Denver Nuggets. On Wednesday, Denver Police acknowledged their participation and stated that Edwards was ticketed for two counts of third-degree assault following the game.

After missing the game-tying shot that would have taken Game 5 into overtime, Edwards dashed off the court and into his team’s tunnel. The purported incident appeared to be caught at the tail end of the NBA TV broadcast.

According to a law enforcement source, Edwards threw a chair, hitting a security guard in the back. The hurled chair then struck a second worker. According to a source, both staff were hurt and were urged to press charges.

According to Denver Police Department’s Jay Casillas, Edwards swung a folding chair and injured two females who were working at the time. According to police, both ladies were hurt, although not significantly. According to a source on the scene, Denver Police reportedly held the T-Wolves bus up after the game to cite Edwards.

The NBA TV video below shows Edwards missing the game’s last shot and fleeing away. At the 21 second mark, as he left the court, what seems to be the event in which Edwards reportedly hurled the chair is partially visible.
