Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks and Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics stood out in a month full of spectacular performances and game-changing moments, taking home the coveted honor of NBA Players of the Month for February.
Luka Doncic led the Dallas Mavericks to victory with an 8-3 record. His on-court skill was extraordinary. Doncic demonstrated his versatile skill set by averaging an incredible 33.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, 10.3 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. Among his incredible accomplishments were eight of the 11 games in which he scored 30 points or more, three occasions in which he scored 40 points or more, and two spectacular triple-doubles. Thanks in large part to Doncic’s outstanding play, the Mavericks (34–27) are now sitting in eighth place in the very competitive Western Conference.
The influence of Jayson Tatum‘s basketball skills was felt throughout the Eastern Conference. Tatum’s impact was evident as he led the Boston Celtics to an incredible nine-game winning streak and one defeat. In February, the powerhouse of the Celtics averaged 27.2 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game. His ability to score and change the pace of the game which demonstrated in three games when he scored 30 points or more. He capped with an impressive 41 points against the Brooklyn Nets. Tatum put up a near triple-double performance against the Wizards with 35 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists. With a 48-12 record, the Celtics are comfortably leading both the Eastern Conference and the NBA. Tatum’s outstanding play is paying off for the team.
