Kevin Durant and Chris Paul congratulated Russell Westbrook following the Clippers vs. Suns Game 4 victory. LA Clippers guard Russell Westbrook is one of the most decorated players in the NBA, but he is also one of the most criticized. This is not a secret, and even his opponents are aware of it. Kevin Durant and Chris Paul defended Westbrook following Game 4 between the Clippers and the Suns.

“Russ has been resilient his whole life,” Durant said. “He comes to work, don’t say much, just come hoop. When he retires, people are gonna really tell the truth about how they feel about his game. Right now it’s the fun thing to do, to make a joke out of Russ. But the way he’s been playing since he got with the Clippers, he’s shown everybody who he really is.”

Chris Paul also weighed in, adding, “I feel like the only people that do that too are the people who don’t know basketball, you know what I’m saying? And don’t know what it’s like to compete. I know for me, Russ is one of my closest friends, you know what I’m saying? And so people that do that, talk crazy probably wish they could be in that situation, you know what I mean? So, yeah.”

Russell Westbrook was the star in Clippers vs Suns, Game 4

Despite his standing as one of the finest players in NBA history, Russell Westbrook has faced continual criticism from fans and analysts in recent years. However, following his last outstanding performance with the Clippers, Westbrook found himself at the center of a new discourse courtesy of Kevin Durant and Chris Paul.

The All-Star trio returned to the court on Sunday for Game 4 of the first-round series between Durant and Paul’s Suns and Westbrook’s Clippers, who were still without Kawhi Leonard (knee) and Paul George (knee). Phoenix took a 3-1 series lead with a 112-100 victory against their ailing opponent, similar to Game 3, but it was Westbrook who stole the show with a game-high 37 points on 17-of-29 shooting, six rebounds, and four assists.

With Leonard and George anticipated to be sidelined, Westbrook, who joined the Clippers in February after a tough run with the Lakers, will be called on to bear the weight once more. L.A. will now go to Phoenix for a must-win Game 5 on Tuesday night.
