NBA Report: Chicago Bulls defeat Cleveland Cavaliers

Chicago Bulls regain the top spot in the eastern conference with a win over Cleveland Cavaliers ending Cavaliers 5 match dream run.

The Most Dominant team in the Eastern conference Chicago Bulls who were tied with the Miami Heat for the first place regained their top spot with a win over Cleveland Cavaliers 104-117. The Bulls with this win put an end to their four-match losing streak as needed this win badly in front of their home crowd. Alex Caruso returned to the court after being released by health and safety protocols.

The game started evenly as both teams displayed great defence near the paint. Lauri Markkanen dunked one to put the Cavs forward in the game. After the end of the first quarter, Cleveland had a 5 point advantage.

Cedi Osman scored a driving layup as the second quarter got under way, Demar Derozan then put on a exhibition of two pointers scoring 16  points in the second quarter as the bulls rallied a 10-0 run late into the second quarter and at the halftime point bulls were ahead of Cavaliers by 9 points.

Cleveland fight back late in the second half as the bulls run away with the game

The Bulls started the third quarter with a 9 point advantage but the Cavaliers fought back and reduced the difference to five points as they started getting better with shooting.

Allen, Garland and Markkanen dropped floaters after floaters at the timeout in the third quarter with  4:29 left on the clock but the Bulls still held the four-point advantage. 

The defensive errors of cavaliers after the time out in the 3rd quarter as Derozan ended the quarter with a two-point buzzer beater as Chicago were nine points ahead.

The fourth quarter started with Cleveland playing at a great pace and with 4:48 left on the clock, Lauri Markkanen scored a three-point shot and reduced the game to one point.

With the scoreline 103-102 the game looked like it would down the wire that is when Ayo Dosunmu nailed a three-point shot and Nikola Vucevic hit two three-point shots and a layup as Chicago scored had 14-3 run which put an end to Cleveland season-high, five games winning streak.

Demar DeRozan after dropping 30 points, 2 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 blocks and a steal said “Getting our butt whooped, giving a tough one in Boston, we knew coming back on our home floor we had to make up for it”.

Nikola Vucevic added 24 points and 12 rebounds. Ayo Dosunmu tallied 18 points, 2 rebounds and eight assists. Coby White garnered 16 points, 4 rebounds and four steals.

Lauri Markkanen led Cleveland with five three-pointers scoring 28 points and 7 rebounds. Darius Garland recorded a double-double as he tallied 20 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists on a losing effort.
