The Memphis Grizzlies will face the Utah Jazz in an NBA Summer League game at the Vivint Arena on July 7. Both teams have played two games each in the Salt Lake City leg and will suit up once again before they head to Las Vegas for the remainder of the tournament.
The Grizzlies come into the encounter after facing a defeat at the hands of the OKC Thunder. Kenneth Lofton Jr. had a stunning game where he scored 19 points on 47.1% shooting from the field. Shaq Buchanan also chipped in with 16 points and 7 rebounds on the night. Other than these two stars, the Grizzlies got 11 points from Dakota Mathias off the bench. However, despite their best efforts, the Thunder were stellar throughout the game. Jalen Williams scored 16 points for them, while Josh Giddey registered a 14-point triple-double, helping them grab an 87-71 win on the night.
The Jazz faced their second consecutive defeat at home against the Philadelphia 76ers. J Robinson led the scorers for the team by racking up 17 points on 60% shooting from the field. B Caboclo scored 16 points and secured 6 rebounds on the night, while J Palmer Jr. came off the bench scoring 14 points. They tried to keep themselves in the game, but the 76ers were a little too resilient on the night. Charles Bassey was their highest scorer. The Center racked up 17 points and recorded 9 boards in the 86-82 win for the 76ers.
The injury report for the game has not been submitted yet. However, there were no casualties reported at the end of their previous games, which means that both teams will have all their players available for selection.
