The Detroit Pistons will lock horns with the Indiana Pacers in an NBA Summer League game at the Cox Pavilion on July 12. The Pistons head into the encounter on the back of two stellar wins in their previous games.
Their opponent in the last game was the Washington Wizards. Despite their strong challenge, the team from the Moto City was able to register a 105-99 win on the night. Isaiah Livers had a stellar game as he scored 20 points on the night. Braxton Key made his presence felt from the bench, scoring 14 points, grabbing 7 rebounds and making 4 assists. The likes of Isaiah Stewart and Jalen Duren also contributed to the win with 14 and 13 points respectively. After dominating the first half, the Pistons faced some stumbles in the second. However, in the end, they were able to succeed and grab their second consecutive win of the campaign.
Meanwhile, their opponents the Pacers are coming on the back of a disappointing 103-96 loss to the Sacramento Kings. Terry Taylor scored team-high16 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for the Pacers. Rookie Bennedict Mathurin racked up 15 points on the night. The Kings had their hands all over the game right from tip-off. Their rookie Keegan Murphy scored 23 points for them. This eventually helped them as they went on to grab a convincing win.
Heading into this game both the teams haven’t reported any casualties. The injury report for the game has also not been submitted. If everything works well and there isn’t any niggle to a player on the roster prior to the tip-off, both managers may keep all of their stars available for selection.
