The Boston Celtics will head to the Thomas and Mack Center for their NBA Summer League matchup against the Golden State Warriors on July 12. Both teams are heading into this encounter on the back of victories in their previous games.
The Celtics were up against a young Milwaukee Bucks team. They were brilliant on the night and this helped them bag a stunning 111-109 win on the night. Matt Ryan was the star performer as he scored 23 points off the bench. He shot 58.3% from the field and his brilliance helped the Celtics put on a clinical performance in the fourth quarter. Another player that had an impact on the game was Mfiondu Kabengele. The big man scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds on the night. With this win, the Celtics have one win and a loss in the Summer League. Their game against the Warriors is going to be decisive for their road ahead in the tournament.
Coming into this game, the Dubs were able to register a thrilling 86-85 win against the San Antonio Spurs. In a game that saw James Wiseman return to action, the Warriors struggled in the first half. They were trailing by 14 points leading into halftime. However, the never give up mentality of the team showed up in the second half. Led by Jonathan Kuminga and Mac McClung, the Dubs started to make regular buckets. San Antonio stayed in the game, but in the end, the Warriors were the team that prevailed. Kuminga scored 28, while McLung racked 22 points for the team on the night.
Both teams haven’t submitted their injury report ahead of the game. If it all works well, the coaches will have their regular starters take the court for tip-off.
