The Atlanta Hawks will welcome the Detroit Pistons to the State Farm Arena for an NBA game on Friday. The Hawks lost 108-110 in their last game over the Bulls. Trae Young scored 34 points for Atlanta, and Dejounte Murray had 15 points and 10 assists. Rookie AJ Griffin made a corner 3-pointer to make it 88-87 and give the Hawks their first lead with 9:31 remaining.
The rookie followed with a right-wing 3 at the 7:48 mark to put Atlanta up 95-90, and the Hawks led until LaVine hit consecutive jumpers to make it 106-104 with 44.7 seconds remaining. “We did a good job of staying in the game and making the plays and making the shots,” LaVine said. “I think you just credit everyone for being confident in what they do, and it was a good win.”
The Pistons on the other hand lost 113-93 against the 76ers in their last game. Detroit was led by Jaden Ivey, who followed up his career-best 30 points on Tuesday night with 16 points. Killian Hayes scored 12 and Saddiq Bey 11 for the Pistons, who have lost seven of their last eight games.
“We kept shooting ourselves in the foot and we didn’t take good care of the basketball,” Pistons head coach Dwane Casey said. “Down the stretch, we couldn’t cut into it, but we couldn’t close it.”
