In Game 7, the Miami Heat shocked the Boston Celtics by defeating them 103-84 and preventing them from making basketball history. After dropping the last three games in a row to the Celtics, Miami has unexpectedly advanced to the NBA Finals. After three straight victories, the Boston Celtics entered Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Monday at TD Garden hoping to establish themselves as the first team in NBA history to come back from a 3-0 hole in a postseason series.

Miami was unconcerned. In addition to preventing a total collapse, the Heat shockingly demolished the Celtics in a 103-84 victory that sealed a position in the NBA Finals versus the Denver Nuggets. Caleb Martin shone in a supporting role with 26 points and 10 rebounds on 11-of-16 shooting while Jimmy Butler dominated the score sheet with 28 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and three steals.

When Jayson Tatum twisted his ankle on the first possession and wasn’t fully recovered for the rest of the game, Boston appeared to be up against it. Given the situation, Jaylen Brown had to deliver, but he ended up committing eight turnovers and shooting only 1-of-9 from outside the arc. He contributed to the Celtics’ overall issue, which included their 9-of-42 (21.4 percent) three-point shooting performance, which received a lot of negative feedback on social media.
