Twitter reacts as Boston Celtics’ thrash Miami Heat to avoid elimination

Boston should be commended for this response after the Celtics looked to let themselves flat and perish in Game 3 with a defeat of 128-102.

The Boston Celtics were down 3-0 going into Tuesday night’s Game 4 in Miami. No team has ever come back from such a setback in the history of the NBA, and Boston’s duplicitous nature was frequently criticized in the national press.  Boston should be commended for this response after the Celtics looked to let themselves flat and perish in Game 3 with a defeat of 128-102. 

The series now returns to Bean Town for Game 5. It could prove too little, too late. Although not a single team has ever overcome a 0-3 deficit, this is theoretically how it would proceed: one victory at a time. NBA as usual, Twitter reacted with glee to Boston’s tenacity and Miami’s failure to progress to Jimmy Butler’s second NBA Finals.

As the series returns to Boston for Game 5 on Thursday thanks to the Celtics’ victory, Twitter swiftly emphasized the significance of the previously mentioned stars’ attendance. Rodriguez and Jeter were both members of the New York Yankees team in 2004 that fell to the Boston Red Sox in the ALCS despite holding a 3-0 lead.  The Yankees were and remain the first MLB club in league history to drop a seven-game series after holding such a lead, but no NBA team has accomplished the feat.
