Magomed Magomedov made a strong statement at Bellator x Rizin 2 with a first-round submission victory over Danny Sabatello. He hopes this win has put him back in the title picture. After being eliminated in the Bellator bantamweight grand prix semifinal by Patchy Mix. Magomedov bounced back impressively and now eyes a title shot against the winner of bantamweight champion Sergio Pettis and interim champ Patchy Mix.

Magomedov’s victory over Sabatello came via a first-round guillotine choke at Saitama Super Arena in Japan. Speaking at the Bellator MMA x Rizin 2 post-fight press conference. Magomedov expressed his desire for a title shot emphasizing that it’s his ultimate goal. He hopes that Bellator recognizes his performance and grants him the opportunity to fight for the bantamweight title.

“If Bellator sees fit, I would love to fight the winner of Pettis and Mix. If it’s Mix, I would love to run it back,” said Magomedov, referencing his previous bout against Mix where he fell short. He acknowledged that Mix’s game plan caught him off guard and he wants a chance to avenge that loss. On the other hand, facing Pettis a fighter he has never fought before would also be a welcome challenge.
