Former Olympic wrestler Jordan Oliver is set to make his MMA debut at Bellator 298

Jordan Oliver is a former member of the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team. He is all set for his first professional MMA debut fight. After undergoing four months of dedicated MMA training at Kill Cliff FC in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Oliver (0-0 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) is ready to make his debut on August 12th at Bellator 298. His opponent will be Andrew Triolo (0-1 MMA, 0-1 BMMA), and the featherweight bout will take place at Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Oliver brings an impressive wrestling background to his MMA journey. During his time at Oklahoma State University, he competed in both freestyle and folkstyle wrestling for four years. His accolades include being a 2019 U.S. national champion in freestyle wrestling, a two-time NCAA Division-I national champion in folkstyle wrestling, a four-time NCAA Division-I All-American, and a four-time Big 12 Conference champion in folkstyle wrestling.

After completing his collegiate wrestling career. Oliver had his sights set on the Olympics. He represented the United States as a member of the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team in the 65kg men’s freestyle wrestling category. However, he was unable to secure a spot in the 2021 World Olympic Qualifier.

With his transition to MMA, Oliver sees this opportunity as something even bigger than an Olympic gold medal. In an interview with MMA Junkie, he expressed his belief that winning a Bellator world title as a fighter would be a more fulfilling achievement. Oliver recognizes the immense work he needs to put in, not only to win but also to dominate with style in the cage.

Andrew Triolo, 31, will be looking for redemption after a tough debut in professional MMA. Triolo made his debut in April 2022 for LFA but suffered a first-round TKO loss against fellow debutant Adamu Isah. Since then, he has not competed, making this upcoming bout an opportunity for him to bounce back and make a statement in the MMA world. This can be his fight given that his opponent is making his debut. He already made his debut before him although he lost that match. But he now knows how to deal with the pressure inside the cage that his opponent doesn’t know.
