In a thrilling showdown at Cage Warriors Fighting Championship 158 in Rome, Shaj Haque showcased his skills and determination securing his first successful defense of the flyweight title against Michele Martignoni. The passionate crowd witnessed an exhilarating contest as “Superman” Haque outpointed his opponent displaying his speed and accuracy with striking.

From the opening bell, Haque proved to be a force to be reckoned with landing precise strikes that opened a cut over Martignoni’s right eye early in the fight. Despite Martignoni’s attempts to match Haque’s speed the Italian contender was forced to aggressively pursue his elusive opponent. Round 2 showed the best effort from Martignoni but Haque never lost his composure, countering all threats effectively.

Throughout the contest, Haque neutralized most of Martignoni’s offensive initiatives showcasing his own violence in retaliation. While the fight went the distance Haque’s dominance and durability impressed the crowd. The cage side judges rendered unanimous scorecards of 49-46, 49-46, and 48-47 in favor of Haque, who now boasts an impressive six-bout winning streak.

Dario Bellandi vs Naglis Kanisaukas

In the co-main event, Dario Bellandi displayed a combination of precise striking and grappling finesse to secure a unanimous decision victory over Naglis Kanisauskas in the 185-pound division. Bellandi’s strategy involved utilizing quick jabs to attack Kanisauskas from a distance effectively.

Despite Bellandi’s reputation for submission skills, Kanisauskas showed no hesitation in going to the ground with his opponent. However, he failed to mount any offensive threats allowing Bellandi to dictate the pace and location of the action throughout the contest. The Italian fighter dominated his adversary on the canvas but fell just short of finishing him.

When the final bell rang, the cage announcer revealed unanimous scorecards of 29-28, 30-27, and 30-27 in favor of Bellandi, who celebrated his fourth consecutive victory in the Cage Warriors promotion.

Shaj Haque’s performance in the headlining bout of CW 158 showcased the true essence of a defending champion. His ability to utilize speed and accuracy with striking set him apart leaving Martignoni struggling to keep up with the relentless assault. Haque’s victory is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the sport as he continues to build a formidable legacy in the flyweight division.
