Dest started the match and was replaced with Ronald Araujo with more than 30 minute remaining, what appears to be a hamstring injury. It could be a blow to the Blaugrana as Dest was going through a good run of form and looked a much improved player in  recent weeks. The USNT star looks to be a real doubt for Sunday’s El Clasico against Real ,madrid. Therefore, veteran right-back Dani Alves could come into the starting XI at Santiago Bernabeu.

Other than Dest, central defender Gerard Pique also suffered an injury and was brought off. Xavi issued an update on both the players’ conditions during his post-match presser.

“Piqué told me that he had discomfort and that it hurt when he ran, that’s why I subbed him off,” Xavi said. “Piqué’s discomfort is not new, he has been feeling it for some time and yet he’s making a huge effort to help the team.”

Speaking of Dest, the manager added: “Dest has a hamstring problem. We hope it’s nothing, just like with Piqué.” The Spaniard is expected to recover before the weekend game.
