His journey with kabaddi started at 12, and his commitment to the sport is unmistakable. As a first-time player from Tamil Nadu, he gathered four raid points and two tackle points, playing a pivotal role in the team’s second straight victory. Joining the game as a substitute, his six points signaled an auspicious start to his PKL career. Selected as a New Young Player (NYP) for Patna Pirates before season 10 of PKL, Sudhakar’s kabaddi story is truly motivational, climbing from grassroots to a leading franchise league.
His record at the tournament is impressive, with 320 raid points in just 28 matches. His strike rate of 77.10, an average of 11.42 raid points per game, along with 13 Super Raids and 18 Super 10s, underscores an outstanding season. Sudhakar’s ascent in kabaddi has not been smooth sailing. Obstacles arose, including switching colleges to find one that supported his sporting pursuits, but he swiftly earned a spot on the university squad, which triumphed in intercollege and zonal tournaments.
A youthful Sudhakar played for the Tiruchirappalli district and then the junior state team, though injuries did stall his progress occasionally. Despite this, he didn’t attend the Yuva Kabaddi Series trials due to injuries. Nevertheless, his Tamil Nadu junior side coach had confidence in him and selected him to play for the Palani Tuskers. Beyond the court, Sudhakar M employs his rising fame to back brands like Pace International by featuring in their advertising campaigns, furthering his presence beyond the sport.
