Men's Junior Asia Cup 2023 Hockey: LIVE Streaming, When and Where to Watch, Full Schedule, Indian Contingent

The Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2023 Hockey competition will feature 10 teams and take place in Salalah, Oman from May 23 to June 1. India will be one of the 10 teams competing. The Under-21 hockey tournament’s 10th edition matches will be streamed live in India. Along with Pakistan, Japan, Thailand, and Chinese Taipei, the Indian junior men’s hockey team is in Pool A. Whereas in Pool B of Korea, Malaysia, Oman, Bangladesh, and Uzbekistan. By their rankings, the top five teams -India, Pakistan, Japan, Korea, and Malaysia -got direct entries. The Men’s Junior AHF Cup was held in Muscat, Oman, in January, and entrants from Bangladesh, Oman, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Chinese Taipei had already secured their spots.

The top two teams from each pool advance to the semifinals after single-leg round-robin matches, while the third and fourth-place teams compete for the 5-8 place classification. The teams that place fifth in both pools will compete against one another to avoid placing tenth. The third-place game and the championship game of the Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2023 Hockey will take place on June 1, and the semifinals will be played on May 31. India, the defending champions of the junior Asia Cup in hockey, will be led by Uttam Singh, with Boby Singh Dhami serving as vice-captain. On May 24, India and Chinese Taipei will square off in their opening game. On May 27, there will be a hockey game between India and Pakistan.

For the upcoming FIH Junior Men’s World Cup 2023, which is scheduled to be held in Malaysia from December 5 to 16 of this year, the Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2023 Hockey will serve as a qualifying event. The Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2023’s top three finishers, along with the host nation Malaysia, will earn spots in the biennial competition. The Indian men’s junior team will enter the competition on the strength of their triumph at the 10th Sultan of Johor Cup last year, where India defeated Australia in the final via a penalty shootout. The India Colts trained at SAI in Bengaluru and competed in a few games against the senior India team before departing for Oman.
