With the minimum point schedule being eliminated from the Official World Golf Ranking, Bradbury's triumph resulted in 9.2 Official World Golf Ranking points.
Dan Bradbury of England clinched the Joburg Open 2022 after recording a four-under 67 in the final round. This is his first DP World Tour victory in his third appearance only on the Tour. Despite a bogey on the 18th hole at the Houghton Golf Club, Bradbury, who turned professional in July, maintained his composure to win by a total of three strokes. The 23-year-old birdied three holes on the front nine – the first, third, and ninth – to pull ahead of the rest of the pack and clinch a victory.
Before his late slip, Bradbury added more birdies at the 13th and 16th on the back nine. This was crucial since it allowed him to easily preserve his lead over Sami Valimaki. Bradbury, who was invited by a sponsor to compete this week, finished with a score of 21-under 263 after posting earlier rounds of 63, 66, and 67. He left Johannesburg with a £136,465 winning check, a two-year DP World Tour exemption, and a spot at The Open Championship the following year.
With the minimum point schedule being eliminated from the Official World Golf Ranking, Bradbury’s triumph resulted in 9.2 Official World Golf Ranking points. As the season-long Race to Dubai points race began, he would have collected 251.25 Race to Dubai points if he had been a DP World Tour participant.
