The Investec South African Open Championship is underway from November 30, continuing until December 3, 2023. This tournament, inaugurated in 1903, is one of the most historical national golf championships globally. Hosted by the Sunshine Tour in South Africa, the event receives co-sanctioning from the DP World Tour, which has launched its 2024 season with the championship. The previous edition saw Thriston Lawrence emerging as the champion as he clinched his victory by a slender margin of just one stroke.

Jesper Svensson is currently leading by a narrow margin as the Investec South African Open Championship heads into the weekend. He is presently challenged by young South African talent Casey Jarvis, who is part of a trio including Matteo Manassero and Joakim Lagergren, being tied second, all aiming to catch up with Svensson at the Blair Atholl Golf & Equestrian Estate. Svensson finished his second round on Friday with a score of 67, putting him at nine under par. He aims to script his name as the third Swede to win the Investec South African Open, a feat last achieved by Henrik Stenson in 2012, with Mathias Grönberg being the first in 2000.
