When it comes to the medal tallies, South Korea leads the list with 35 medals (13 gold, 13 silver and 9 bronze). However, when it comes to India, they are at the fifth position with 6 medals (3 gold and 3 silver).
Avani Prashanth and Pranavi Urs topped the Indian Golf Union’s Asian Games 2023 selection trials. The duo from Bengaluru joined Olympian Aditi Ashok in the Indian team for the continental meet. In the men’s trials, Khalin Joshi was followed by SSP Chawrasia on the leaderboard. The men’s duo will join Anirban Lahiri and Shubhankar Sharma. Lahiri and Sharma did not compete in the trials and were handed direct entries based on their rankings. Lahiri was part of the Indian golf team that won silver at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha.
India has sent a seven-member contingent to the Asian Games which includes the Olympian Aditi Ashok. The full squad is listed below:
