The DP World Tour Championships 2022 will be the final event of the DP World Tour. The event will take place from November 17 to November 20 at the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai. This will be the 14th edition of the prestigious tournament. The event, which was first contested in 2009, will determine who will finish this season as the top golfer on the DP World Tour. Collin Morikawa, the defending winner, created history last year when he became the first American to win the European Tour. He has, however, withdrawn from this year’s event due to personal obligations. The event will include the top 50 players from the DP World Tour rankings.
The DP World Tour Championships increased its prize pool from $9 million to $10 million from the previous year. A whooping $3 million will be awarded to the winner as prize money. The field for the DP World Tour Championships is led by world no. 1 Rory McIlroy. After winning the FedEx Cup in August, he will aim to capture the PGA Tour and DP World Tour season finale championships in the same year. In addition to Rory, some of the top golfers to keep an eye on are Tommy Fleetwood, Kurt Kitayama, Viktor Hovland, Ryan Fox, and Matt Fitzpatrick.
