While the Race to the CME Globe is a season-long scoring competition, no points will be reset or awarded this week.
The LPGA 2022 season concludes with the CME Group Tour Championship at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida where the top 60 players in the Race to the CME Globe will compete for a $7 million prize fund from November 17 to November 20, 2022. While the Race to the CME Globe is a season-long scoring competition, no points will be reset or awarded this week. The Tour Championship is a 72-hole competition and the winner will be crowned “Race to the CME Globe Champion.” The race is currently led by world No. 3 Lydia Ko, who is followed by Thailand’s Atthaya Thitikul, who recently won the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year award.
The Money Title, the Rolex LPGA Player of the Year, and the Vare Trophy are some of the most coveted honours of the year that are still up for grabs and won’t be determined till the last round on Sunday. The top eight players in terms of official money have a chance to win the tournament if they take home the CME Group Tour Championship winner’s check. 26 different players have won this season, matching the 1991 and 2018 LPGA records for the most unique winners in a season. The only players with multiple victories in 2022 to date are Lydia Ko, Minjee Lee, Brooke Henderson, Thitikul, and Jennifer Kupcho.
