The big finale will feature top golfers as the final list includes 40 of the top 50 in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings.
The CME Group Tour Championship 2022 is scheduled to take place from November 17 to November 20, 2022 at the Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida. The tournament will be the final event on the LPGA this season. The purse for the competition is $7 million, with $2 million going to the winner. The tournament will be held in its original time window, with no Monday qualifiers.
The big finale will feature top golfers as the final list includes 40 of the top 50 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. Nelly Korda, Lydia Ko, Jin Young Ko, Atthaya Thitikul, Lexi Thompson, Minjee Lee, Hyo-Joo Kim, etc. comprise the star studded lineup going to play in the 2022 edition of the CME Group Tour Championship. Nelly Korda claimed victory in the last LPGA Tournament, i.e., the Pelican Women’s Championship, to regain the World no.1 position.
The LPGA Tour Championship, which was held in 2009 and 2010, was replaced by the CME Group Tour Championship. The competition was known as the CME Group Titleholders from 2011 to 2013. The field for the competition is limited to 60 players. The LPGA Tour added a season-long points contest, the Race to the CME Globe, and a $1 million bonus in 2014. This season-long “Race” came to an end with the CME Group Tour Championship. Before the competition, each player’s season-long ‘Race to the CME Globe’ points were reset depending on their place in the points list. The top 40 players in the CME Group Tour Championship were then given ‘championship points,’ which were added to their’reset points’ to decide the ultimate winner of the ‘Race to the CME Globe.’
