South Korea will host Vietnam at the Suwon World Cup Stadium in an international friendly on Tuesday evening. The hosts will be looking to make it three wins on the trot. South Korea are now on an unbeaten run of four matches in international friendlies. They have looked particularly impressive from a defensive point of view. As a result, the Koreans have kept clean sheets in their last three games. Although the Taegeuk Warriors are likely to be a little disappointed with the result at the beginning of that run, drawing 1-1 at home against El Salvador, they have since put in some impressive displays against much better sides. Jurgen Klinsmann’s side drew 0-0 against Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium. Subsequently, they went on to record a 1-0 victory against Saudi Arabia at St. James’ Park. Last time out, South Korea ran out 4-0 winners at home against Tunisia. With the World Cup qualifications approaching, the Koreans will most likely get as many wins as possible.

Meanwhile, Vietnam has also played a number of friendly matches over the past few months and they started very well, winning three games on the spin. However, the Golden Warriors have seen a visible decline in the recent games. Philippe Troussier’s side is now on a two-game losing streak. Earlier, Vietnam was thrashed in a 2-0 defeat against China on Tuesday night. Consequently, they went on to lose 2-0 against Uzbekistan last time out. Tuesday’s trip to Suwon is set to be an extremely difficult test for Vietnam, given the disparity between the two nations. However, the game is merely a warm-up ahead of their return to competitive action in November.
