Japan will take on Tunisia at the Misaki Park Stadium for an international friendly on Tuesday at 3:40 pm (IST). The hosts are enjoying a good run of form as they prepare for a return to competitive action. Japan beat Canada 4-1 in a friendly last time out. Ao Tanaka and Keito Nakamura got on the scoresheet to hand the Samurai Blue a four-goal lead before their opponents scored a late consolation. Meanwhile, Japan will also kickstart their FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying campaign next month. The Blue Samurais will be hosting either Myanmar or Macau at the Panasonic Stadium Suita. Japan are on a brilliant five-game winning streak. In this time period, the Japanese team scored a whopping 22 goals. Moreover, the Blue Samurais have also won their last three home games.

Meanwhile, Tunisia has performed well in the AFCON qualifiers. As a result, they are set to make their 16th straight appearance in the finals next year. However, recently they were thrashed 4-0 by South Korea in a friendly at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Friday. The Tunisians conceded all four goals in the second half against a rampaging Korean side. This also ended a three-game unbeaten streak for the Tunisians. The inconsistency of the Tunisians in the last 5 matches can cost them the game against Japan.

For Japan, Ao Tanaka has been in very impressive form recently. The 25-year-old midfielder has scored three goals in his last three games. Alongside Tanaka, Wataru Endo and Junya Ito should also get the nod in midfield from Moriyasu. However, given the back-to-back matches that his team has to play, Moriyasu can experiment with his playing XI as well. This could mean that the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi could be brought in for Takuma Asano in attack. Meanwhile, Tunisia may also make a few changes. Given that they were on the receiving end of a heavy defeat last time out, Yan Valery could replace Ali Maaloul at right-back. Considering Tuesday’s game will be a tough test for Tunisia, Kadri may call upon some of his more experienced players. This could result in Mohamed Ben Romdhane replacing Hannibal Mejbri in midfield.
