Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has insisted that Cristiano Ronaldo is staying at the club this season amid reports linking him with a move away from Turin. Since the Portuguese skipper is entering the final 12 months of his contract with the Italian giants, multiple reports claimed that Ronaldo might leave the side this summer. However, his club manager has rubbished those reports and asserted that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner will stay in Turin. Ahead of their opening Serie A game away to Udinese, Allegri was asked about Ronaldo’s plans after the 36-year-old sat out a friendly clash with Juve’s U23 team in midweek.

Massimiliano Allegri told the reporters, “Ronaldo didn’t play on Thursday because we were coming off a heavy training workload and I gave him half a day off. Ronaldo is an added bonus for us, because he guarantees a large number of goals. Obviously, we also have to work as a team to get the best out of an individual. He has always trained well, I just read the gossip in the papers. He never told us he wanted to leave. Ronaldo told me that he is staying at Juventus.”

Manuel Locatelli has recently completed his long-awaited move from Sassuolo. When asked about further business in the transfer window, Massimiliano Allegri replied, “Market? I told the club that I am very happy with the players available, we must try to create value by improving the young players.”

“I am happy with Locatelli’s arrival. He has grown a lot, he has become an important player. He is not in optimal condition because he has worked very little, he will need a few days, but after the break for the national team he will be in good condition. But if there is a need for a quarter of an hour, he is already able to do it in Udine.”

Cristiano Ronaldo: My story at Real Madrid has been written

Cristiano Ronaldo, in a lengthy Instagram post, has recently distanced himself from reports in Spain linking him with a possible return to Real Madrid. He wrote, “Anyone who knows me is aware of how focused I am on my work. Less talk and more action, this has been my guiding motto since the start of my career. However, in view of everything that’s been said and written recently, I have to set out my position.”

“More than the disrespect for me as a man and as a player, the frivolous way that my future is covered in the media is disrespectful to all the clubs involved in these rumours, as well as to their players and staff. My story at Real Madrid has been written. It’s been recorded. In words and numbers, in trophies and titles, in records and in headlines. It’s in the Museum at the Bernabeu Stadium and it’s also in the minds of every fan of the club.

“And beyond what I achieved, I remember that in those nine years I had a relationship of deep affection and respect for ‘merengue afición’, an affection and respect that I retain to this day, and that I will always cherish. I know that the true Real Madrid fans will continue to have me in their hearts, and I will have them in mine.

“As well as this most recent episode in Spain, there have been frequent news and stories associating me with a number of clubs in many different leagues, with nobody ever being concerned about trying to find out the actual truth. I’m breaking my silence now to say that I can’t allow people to keep playing around with my name. I remain focused on my career and in my work, committed and prepared for all the challenges that I have to face. Everything else? Everything else is just talk.”
