This will be the final pre-season friendly for Lens while the Red Devils are due to play two more games before they take on the field against the Wolves. The clash with Wrexham involved an academy side. The first team have technically lost twice this summer, going down 2-0 to Real Madrid before suffering a 3-2 reverse to Dortmund last weekend. The clash against the Bundesliga giants brought their pre-season tour of the United States to a close. The 20-time English champions have made two signings this summer, bringing in Mason Mount from Chelsea and Andre Onana from Inter Milan. While star striker Rasmus Hojlund is also expected to unveiled in the red jersey soon. The Red Devils finished in the the third place last year in the EPL and won the EFL cup. With new artillery in the squad, Ten Hag’s side is sure to challenge other cups as well.
Lens on the other hand, have only won Ligue 1 on one previous occasion. That too came way back in 1998. The French side have been runners-up on five occasions. The last season proving to be their best finish since 2002. It was always going to be difficult for the club to keep hold of their star players this summer. Two notable departures from the camp have been Lois Openda and Seko Fofana. Howevr, Franck Haise’s side have managed to boost their squad with the arrival of a number of players. This includes Andy Diouf, Angelo Fulgini and Oscar Cortes. Lens has played six friendlies in total out of which they have won two.
