Paris Saint-Germain’s star forward Kylian Mbappe is all set to be fully fit ahead of their UEFA Champions League semi-final clash against Manchester City. Mbappe had sparked concerns when he went off injured during a Ligue 1 match against Metz. However, a report in French newspaper L’Equipe says that the French forward will be available for the City clash. The news will come as a relief to PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino, who is currently on course for an unprecedented treble.

For his part, Mbappe looks like he has begun preparations for the clash against the Premier League leaders next week. He uploaded a story to his Instagram page showing himself undergoing a recovery process.

“We hope it’s not too serious,” Pochettino had said after the match. “Kylian was calm when he was replaced but even a simple knock is always painful.”

PSG continue winning ways

Kylian Mbappe had scored twice against Metz as the defending champions won 3-1 and go top of Ligue 1. He opened the scoring early and gave them back the lead in the second half after Metz had equalised.

The result was sealed by Mauro Icardi converting a late penalty with a ‘Panenka’.

Afterwards, Pochettino stated that his side are on ‘the right track’ but still have plenty more games to get through.

“We are on the right track, there is still a month of competitive football to go, we are still in the cup, in the league and in the Champions League,” Pochettino added.

“We are battling to win all three and want to accomplish what we want to do at the end of the season.”

PSG had made it to the finals of the Champions League last season. However, they were defeated by a dominant Bayern Munich side.

They will be keen to make up for that loss this year.
