Indian Super League side Hyderabad FC have added further strength to their backline by completing the signing of left-back Pritam Soraisam, the club announced on Wednesday. Pritam becomes the ninth new arrival at Hyderabad FC this season. He also becomes the sixth domestic player to join the club, following the signings of Aaren D’Silva, Abdul Rabeeh, Aniket Jadhav, Nim Dorjee Tamang and Gurmeet Singh. “I’m very happy and very excited to have signed for Hyderabad FC. I will give my very best for the team in our push to achieve our targets,” said the 25-year-old Manipuri defender after completing formalities.

A former India international at the U19 level, Pritam began his career with Sambalpur Football Academy before making his I-League debut with Shillong Lajong where he established himself as a regular. In the Indian Super League, he has featured for Kerala Blasters.

Speaking on playing under Manolo Marquez, Pritam added, “I’m very excited and can’t wait to train under our coach Manolo. I have seen all of the games from last season and I really love the team’s playing style. At HFC, we have a very young and energetic squad and I hope we can push ourselves to achieve a lot this season.”

Previous Hyderabad FC signings

Earlier, Hyderabad FC completed the signings of defender Nim Dorjee Tamang and goalkeeper Gurmeet Singh for the long term. The duo, who joined from NorthEast United, have each signed three-year contracts till the end of the 2023-24 season. A center-back who can also fill in at right-back, Nim Dorjee hails from Sikkim and started his career with Shillong Lajong where he made 45 I-League appearances.

Nim Dorjee, who has played for the Highlanders since 2019, already has 18 ISL appearances to his name to add to the two caps for India U19s. “I am really excited to be a part of Hyderabad FC, a team which has good young and experienced players. The club has played top-quality football last season and I am delighted to be a part of the club’s journey,” said the 25-year-old after completing his move.

Twenty-one-year-old Gurmeet Singh is another promising youngster who will join Manolo Marquez’s side for the upcoming campaign. A talented goalkeeper, he has spent the last three seasons with NEUFC and will look to provide more competition for a place in between the posts in the first team. He featured eight times for the Highlanders last season keeping two clean sheets.

“I am grateful to the club for providing me this opportunity. As a young player, seeing others my age flourish here makes this a really important project for me,” said Gurmeet. “It is a very important season for us at Hyderabad FC. We will look to build on the campaign last season and I am sure we as a team are ready for the challenges,” he added.

Besides, Chinglensana Konsham had also signed a new long-term deal with Hyderabad FC recently. The 24-year-old defender, who joined HFC in September 2020, has penned a four-year contract that keeps him at Hyderabad till the end of the 2024-25 season. “Knowing the positive atmosphere at the club, and admiration from the fans that enjoy and love football, it feels great to extend my contract at Hyderabad FC,” said Chinglensana.
