With just two matches left to possibly taste World Cup glory, all the four semi-finalists have their strongest XIs mind and are unlikely to move away from that direction. The big question remains to be seen who will be crowned champions at the end of the week. Will it be it a first time win for Morocco and Croatia or will Lionel Messi finally get his hands on the coveted prize or will France retain the trophy for another four years? One thing is guaranteed and that is the ultimate thrilling action. Here are the players to look out for in the semi finals.

Aurelien Tchouameni

A lot of doubt was casted on Aurelien Tchouameni and his costly transfer to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. However, much of that talk has been shut down with the former Monaco man firing on all cylinders. Tchouameni has quickly settled at the heart of the Real Madrid midfield. He has carried that form with his national time. His spectacular strike against England turned out to be a big difference for France in the quarter finals. He will be a key figure for the ‘Les Bleus’ as they look to defeat Morocco and try to retain their crown.

Josko Gvardiol

Croatia and international tournaments is a love story like no other. The European nation always manages to produce hidden talents in the major competitions and this time it has undoubtedly been their centre back, Josko Gvardiol. Partnering alongside Dejan Lovren in the centre of Croatia’s defence, Gvardiol has caught the eyes of many around the world. His display against Belgium in the final group game particularly drew lots of applauses. If the RB Leipzig man can continue his great run of form then Croatia might just have a very solid chance at winning the World Cup.

Sofyan Amrabat

Morocco have truly provided the footballing world with a fairytale run in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The nation has made history by becoming the only African side ever to reach the semis finals of a World Cup. A large credit for that has to go to their midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. The 26 year old is a non stop engine in the heart of the Moroccan midfield. His performance against Spain in the round of 16 was considered as one of the best in the tournament. France certainly will face lots of issues trying to negate his influence. Amrabat looks well set to earn a big transfer after the World Cup ends.
