Heading into Gameweek 27, Fantasy Premier League managers are faced with a challenging decision for the captaincy. Erling Haaland, while disappointing in recent weeks with only one goal in double Gameweek 25 matches and a five-point performance against Bournemouth, faces competition from alternative picks consistently delivering double-digit hauls. Here are the top captain choices for the upcoming week:

Erling Haaland

Haaland, the Manchester City striker, has maintained consistency, if not explosiveness, in recent weeks. Registering five goal involvements in five Premier League starts since his return from injury, Haaland showcased his capabilities with an amazing performance in midweek FA Cup action, scoring five goals in a 6-2 win against Luton Town. Fired up for the Manchester derby, Haaland produced his best-ever FPL return of 23 points in this fixture last season, contributing three goals and two assists in a demolishing 6-3 victory.

Ivan Toney

While experiencing a mixed emotions since his comeback, Toney has managed four goals and one assist in seven appearances for this campaign, yet Brentford’s overall form has not significantly improved, with five defeats and just two wins during this period. Toney’s underlying statistics remain impressive, having registered 17 shots on goal over the last four gameweeks, with five big chances resulting in two goals. Facing Chelsea, who have been without a clean sheet in their last four outings and have conceded ten goals in that period, Toney could exploit the visitors’ defensive inconsistency.

Bukayo Saka

The Arsenal starboy, Saka, has been in exceptional form throughout February, collecting a substantial 49 FPL points across four gameweeks, including three double-digit hauls. Saka has shown clinical finishing, scoring six goals from eight shots on target. Arsenal, having won all their league matches in 2024 and scored 25 goals in that span, the highest among all sides, faces struggling Sheffield United away from home, who have conceded most goals in the league. The reverse fixture in October ended 5-0 in favor of Arsenal.
