The consistent goal-scoring returns of Mohamed Salah and Son Heung-min has posed a dilemma for Fantasy Premier League managers recently, as the high-priced pair is difficult to accommodate alongside Erling Haaland due to budget constraints. In addition, Bukayo Saka and James Maddison continue to impress within their price range, while premium defender Kieran Trippier is proving to be a wise investment.

Of course, it’s impossible to have all of them. However, with numerous costly options to select from, managers will be keen on having at least three, or perhaps even four, of these players in their starting lineups. This underscores the significance of budget-friendly assets more than ever. Fortunately, while limited choices were somewhat limited at the beginning of the season, a few budget players have emerged in the past few weeks. Let’s take a look at the top budget picks for the upcoming gameweeks.

Pedro Neto

The most expensive player on the list, at a modest 5.8 million, is Wolves’ star performer Pedro Neto. He has delivered consistent returns in every match since GW3 and currently leads the Premier League in assists with six, tying with Trippier. Despite facing a solid Newcastle defense this week, Neto has a favorable fixture against struggling Sheffield United in GW11 and appears to be a dependable long-term option.

Anthony Gordon

Anthony Gordon, who recently returned from suspension before the international break, found the back of the net for Newcastle in their 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace last weekend. His early-season rotation risk has considerably decreased due to Harvey Barnes’ injury, which is expected to sideline him until the end of December. While Gordon might still occasionally miss out, he has become a regular starter for one of the most in-form teams in the league and offers remarkable value at just 5.6 million.

Odsonne Edouard

Options in the budget-forward category are somewhat limited, but Odsonne Edouard could be a clever choice for those looking to save funds in their attacking line and allocate them to the midfield. The Crystal Palace striker is now Roy Hodgson’s first-choice forward and starts whenever he’s available. With a favorable run of fixtures and the highest expected goals (xG) statistics among Crystal Palace players this season, Edouard has the potential to outperform his price tag.

Douglas Luiz

Douglas Luiz has emerged as a solid budget option in FPL this season. Boubacar Kamara’s arrival at Villa Park has given the Brazilian more freedom to venture into goal-scoring positions. He demonstrated this by scoring from open play against West Ham and converting a penalty. Being Villa’s primary penalty taker, Luiz has a means of scoring in any given game, and he also has a favorable sequence of matches ahead.

Cole Palmer

One of the most exciting FPL asset to emerge from GW9 is Cole Palmer, who impressed in Chelsea’s attack during their 2-2 draw with Arsenal. Despite Raheem Sterling’s inconsistency, Palmer seems to be Chelsea’s primary penalty taker after successfully converting a spot-kick at Stamford Bridge. If he continues to take penalties and plays up front for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, he has the potential to be a game-changer at a price of 5.0 million. However, it’s worth noting that Chelsea’s upcoming fixtures are not ideal in the short term.
