David Silva is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for La Liga club Real Sociedad. He is considered to be one of the best midfielders of this generation, due to his incredible first touch, dribbling skills, technical abilities, vision, and passing accuracy among other merits. He began his football career with the youth team of UD San Fernando before he was offered a contract at Valencia CF. In the summer of 2010, Silva joined Manchester City on a four-year deal. There he ended up making over 400 appearances. David Silva has also represented Spain on many occasions. He is best known for his partnership on the pitch with former Barcelona duo – Xavi and Andres Iniesta. However, Silva announced his retirement from international football after the 2018 World Cup.
With the Galician side, he won the Copa del Rey in 2008. Meanwhile, with the Citizens, he won two FA Cups, five League Cups, and four Premier League titles. He is even regarded as one of the best players to have ever played for Manchester City. For Spain, the midfielder won titles like the UEFA Euro 2008, 2010 FIFA World Cup, and UEFA Euro 2012.
No doubt David Silva is another talented midfielder in world football. He has been an instrumental player to have ever played for Manchester City. Despite being a very good footballer, he does not come close to Andres Iniesta. His fellow compatriot is said to be a level higher in terms of the talent and genius he has showcased over the years for FC Barcelona and Spain. Because of this, he is been labeled as one of the greatest midfielders in the history of football.
David Silva is often regarded as one of the best players to have played for City. Bernardo Silva on the contrary is a versatile midfielder. He is known for his passing and crossing along with other skills and abilities. Bernardo is still young and has a lot to catch up on. He has time to improve and progress ahead. But right now, it does not make sense to compare him to David Silva as he has years ahead of him to earn plaudits and credits for his performance.
Both players have been the greatest ever to play for their respective clubs and country. David Silva and Mesut Ozil, both are extremely talented and hardworking footballers. Their amazing style of play, good ball control, finishing, crossing, pass accuracy and linking with strikers showcase how extraordinary they are. Along with it, their skills and abilities are also a delight to watch. However, Silva has been a more consistent player than Ozil. In his prime, it is believed that David Silva is the better player of the two.
