Colon and River Plate will be eyeing their first victory in the new Argentine Primera Division when they face each other on Wednesday. In the match taking place at the Stadium Brigadier General Estanislao Lopez, both sides will be keen to kick start their season with a positive result. So far both teams have managed to get the same two points from the two games they have played till now. A victory for either side will lift them considerably in the league table.

In particular, their game against Union finished with an entertaining 2-2 draw. Colon were close to registering their first victory but an injury-time equaliser shared the spoils. Having scored three goals and conceded the same amount of strikes, Wednesday’s visitors will be hoping to register their first victory of the season when River Plate visit them. It will not be an easy task against the league giants, nonetheless, Colon will be hoping to make the most of their home advantage on Wednesday.

In their last match, a Colon player and their opposition team member received red cards. As a result, Colon will have to make do without the services of Facundo Garces. Besides, Paolo Goltz and Cristian Vega are also set to be absent for the home side on Wednesday. Jonathan Sandoval’s participation is also in doubt for the hosts. Meanwhile, River Plate have to deal with the absence of Juan Quintero and Robert Rojas. It will be interesting to see who will replace them in the squad.
