Marcelo Bielsa took over as manager in May and their second qualifying game against Ecuador ended in a 2-1 loss, despite taking an early lead. Now, as they face key qualifying matches against Colombia and Brazil this month, Uruguay is eager to secure a win on the road to leapfrog their opponents and strengthen their position in the early stages of the competition.
