Luie, from Turkey, was part of different teams and made a big impact in Valorant. The game creators made a special card just for her, called ‘Luie,’ and it’s a free gift for everyone playing the game. This card has a purple shirt with Luie’s name and number, along with cool things like a Killjoy hat and posters of game characters. Condolences and Commemoration
Valorant expressed heartfelt condolences to Luie’s friends and family, emphasizing the profound sadness shared by the entire gaming community. In response to her untimely demise, Valorant promptly introduced a player title named ‘Gizem’ in her honor. This title was offered for free as part of the Episode 6 Act 3 battle pass, attainable by reaching tier five.
Months after the initial tribute, Valorant has taken a significant step by adding a distinctive player card dedicated to Luie in the recent 7.10 patch. The information surfaced through Shiick, a well-known Valorant data miner, who shared the official design on Twitter.
The design showcases a purple jersey with Luie’s name and player number 7. Additional elements include a Killjoy beanie, bunny-ear-shaped headgear, and posters featuring agents like Jett, Sova, Raze, and Killjoy.
Every player will receive the Luie player card as a complimentary reward upon logging into the game. The accompanying text reads, ‘This one’s for Luie’ and ‘Celebrate the life of Gizem ‘Luie’ Harmankaya.’ However, the release date for this special player card has not been disclosed yet, urging players to anticipate its arrival patiently.
Luie’s passing was confirmed on 8th February by Unknownpros Female, the team she was part of at the time. Reports indicated that she was trapped under rubble during the devastating earthquakes.
In choosing to immortalize Luie within the game, Valorant has made a commendable decision, ensuring her memory lives on in the very game she loved and competed in.
