There was a lot of anticipation for TSM’s return to CS:GO before the release of CS2. However, following the July 24 leak of the roster, fans are at best calling it “mid” and “average.”

According to leaker Draky, the new TSM roster will include former Into the Breach super entry fragger Cai “CYPHER” Watson, former G2 participant Audric “JACKZ” Jug, former North in-game leader Valdemar “valde” Vangs, former Cloud9 supporter Timofey “interz” Yakushin, and up-and-coming Romanian AWPer Mădălin-Andrei “MoDo” Mirea. Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam, a former employee of G2 and Vitality, is expected to coach these players. According to a report by 1pv.fr on July 6, before Draky’s leak, we were aware that TSM was about to sign CYPHER, JACKZ, and interz in addition to XTQZZZ. In addition, 1pv.fr had previously stated that dupreeh was no longer in the plans, and based on the most recent information discovered by Draky, that appears to be confirmed.

As the winner of the BLAST Paris Major in May and one of the competition’s breakout players, Dupreeh and CYPHER were largely responsible for the community’s excitement surrounding TSM’s return to CS:GO. The community is no longer as excited, however, as a result of the absence of dupreeh from the starting lineup and the players TSM allegedly chose to surround CYPHER.

“Such a mid team,” one fan wrote on Twitter. “Team Solo Mid,” one Redditor wrote. “[It] seems like an average roster, nothing to be excited about,” another Redditor wrote.

When Sean Gares was fired from his position as in-game leader as a result of a player rights dispute at the end of 2016, TSM announced at the end of 2022 that it was considering making its first return to CS:GO since splitting with its North American roster in January 2017.

Another factor contributing to expectations of a star-studded lineup for the 2023 return was the fact that the organization once housed Dev1ce and the other players who later formed Astralis in 2016. However, it appears that if TSM confirms that this is its new roster, the players will have to change their opinion of the server.
